This cutting-edge continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) system is designed for individuals looking to better understand and manage their health, particularly through diet and exercise.
Building upon the success of Abbott's FreeStyle Libre technology, Lingo is a significant step toward bridging the gap between traditional healthcare and preventative health measures.
It offers users a real-time view of their glucose levels via a small, discreet biosensor attached painlessly to the back of the upper arm, streaming data directly to the Lingo mobile app.
The biosensor provides continuous glucose readings every minute—giving users detailed insights into their body's unique response to food, exercise, and everyday stressors.
Unlike glucose monitors intended for individuals with diabetes, Lingo is designed for the broader health-conscious community.
It empowers users to make more informed decisions about their nutrition and physical activity through a combination of real-time glucose data and personal coaching insights.
"Glucose is a powerful signal of your body’s unique response to food and lifestyle," said Olivier Ropars, divisional vice president of Abbott's Lingo business. "Lingo tracks glucose 24/7, translating that data into actionable insights."
The Lingo system is available in three packages to suit various health goals: the Learn Plan for beginners, the Build Plan for more in-depth metabolic understanding, and the Transform Plan, which helps users develop lasting habits and optimize their metabolism over 12 weeks.
These options are available for purchase at HelloLingo.com.
Key features of Lingo include a Glucose Graph that updates in real-time, a simple Lingo Count metric to interpret glucose spikes, and tools for food and activity logging, all designed to promote healthier habits.
The app is also integrated with Apple Health, enabling users to automatically log workouts and maintain up-to-date health data.
With Lingo, Abbott has introduced a consumer-friendly tool for tracking glucose levels and improving metabolic health, marking a significant milestone in wearable wellness technology.
