Airbus Remains Optimistic Despite Missing Delivery Target

Airbus, the European aerospace giant, delivered 766 aircraft in 2024, narrowly missing its target due to supply chain disruptions, Eleanor Butler reported for Euronews.

"On deliveries, we kept our trajectory and celebrated several landmark firsts," said Christian Scherer, CEO of Commercial Aircraft at Airbus.

"Given the complex and fast-changing environment we continue to operate in, we consider 2024 a good year. It has been a massive team effort to deliver this result," he added.

Airbus delivered 123 planes in December alone, boosting its end-of-year tally to 766, just short of its revised target of 770.

While this figure is significantly lower than the 863 aircraft delivered in 2019, it reflects resilience amid ongoing challenges such as supply chain issues and labor shortages.
