Chevron Corp. has announced that its liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant in Australia has resumed full production after a fault reduced output by one-fifth for three days due to strike action, as reported by the Associated Press (AP).

Last Thursday, a turbine tripped at the Wheatstone LNG plant in Western Australia state as approximately 500 unionized Chevron staff escalated their strike action over pay and working conditions.
Both the Wheatstone and Chevron's Gorgon plant, situated in the Pilbara region of the state, collectively contribute between 5% and 7% of the global LNG supply.
Chevron clarified that full production at the Wheatstone facility was not restored until Sunday night.
Chevron stated in a release, "During this period, LNG production continued at approximately 80% of the usual rates, and vessel loading continued." They also emphasized, "There has been no change to scheduled LNG deliveries."
The Wheatstone plant produces 8.9 million metric tons (9.8 million US tons) of LNG annually.
Around 500 Chevron employees, who are members of the Offshore Alliance (a partnership between the Australian Workers' Union and the Maritime Union of Australia representing workers in Australia's offshore oil and gas industry), ceased work for a second consecutive day on Sunday and warned of the possibility of further disruptions.
