iPhone 16 Is First Apple Phone Designed For AI

Apple’s ubiquitous iPhone is about to break new ground with a shift into artificial intelligence (AI), promising to do everything from enhancing its often criticized assistant Siri to creating customized emojis on the fly, Michael Liedtke reported for the Associated Press (AP).

The new era will begin Monday with the unveiling of the hotly anticipated iPhone 16 at a Cupertino, California auditorium named after Apple co-founder Steve Jobs. Jobs unveiled the first iPhone in 2007, predicting it would reshape society—and Apple has since sold billions of iPhones, helping create around $3 trillion in shareholder wealth.

However, over the past decade, iPhone upgrades have been largely incremental, leading consumers to delay buying new models and contributing to a recent slump in Apple’s flagship product sales.
