In a groundbreaking initiative, mWell, the Philippines' premier health and wellness mega app, is transforming healthcare on Turtle Islands, Tawi-Tawi, by bridging the digital gap with telemedicine services.

Partnering with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), mWell is extending its reach through the Broadband ng Masa (BBM) initiative, targeting areas with limited internet access.

Turtle Islands, a geographically isolated community, faced the daunting challenge of enduring hours of boat travel to access basic healthcare.

Recognizing this struggle, mWell, in collaboration with DICT and Huawei Philippines, introduced the innovative mWell OnTheGo – a portable digital clinic.

This revolutionary solution enables nearly six thousand island residents to connect with doctors 24/7 through the mWell app, offering online consultations, e-prescriptions, and lab referrals.

Accessible via Huawei Tablet and community internet services, mWell OnTheGo ensures healthcare is at the fingertips of those in need.

Chairman and CEO of mWell and Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC), Manuel V. Pangilinan, emphasizes, "Our goal is for mWell to demolish the barriers preventing our countrymen in remote areas from receiving quality healthcare."

She states, "Recognizing that good health is crucial for livelihood and improving the overall quality of life, we will continue to be an instrument for our country’s sustainable development."

Expanding their impact beyond Turtle Islands, mWell collaborated with the DICT to fill the healthcare void on Sacol Island, Zamboanga. As part of the Smart Village initiative, mWell

OnTheGo was deployed, providing the island's 12,000 residents with access to medical experts from across the country.

DICT Assistant Secretary Maria Teresa M. Camba expresses gratitude, saying, "We are grateful to Huawei and mWell for responding to our request to make available much-needed telemedicine services to Sacol."

This initiative aligns with mWell's commitment to the Smart Village Initiative, aiming to enhance healthcare, education, agriculture, and local governance by providing essential ICT tools, applications, connectivity, and services to enhance the quality of life for individuals, families, and communities across the Philippines.

As part of the MPIC Group, mWell actively contributes to achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being.

Supporting the MVP Group’s Gabay Kalusugan advocacy for quality and affordable healthcare, mWell is not just a health app; it's a lifeline, connecting remote communities to a healthier future.
