A UK judge has ruled that Craig Wright, an early Bitcoin developer, is not Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous creator of Bitcoin, as reported by The Block.

The case was brought by the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA), aiming to disprove Wright's claim of being Nakamoto and to prevent him from asserting copyright claims over the Bitcoin whitepaper and database. I Photo: Dr Craig S Wright X
The case was brought by the Crypto Open Patent Alliance (COPA), aiming to disprove Wright's claim of being Nakamoto and to prevent him from asserting copyright claims over the Bitcoin whitepaper and database.
Judge James Mellor stated that the evidence against Wright was "overwhelming," following testimonies from key figures in Bitcoin's creation, including Adam Back and Martti Malmi.
Both disputed Wright's claims, asserting that he was not Satoshi Nakamoto. The ruling marks a significant development in the ongoing debate over Bitcoin's origins and intellectual property rights.
