Billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban is warning of a looming power struggle that he believes will redefine the future of U.S. governance.

According to Cuban, Musk’s vision of AI-driven automation will directly conflict with Trump’s desire to maintain control over government processes.
In a series of recent Bluesky posts, Cuban predicted that the most significant showdown yet will be between Elon Musk and Donald Trump—centered around the control and use of artificial intelligence (AI), Benzinga reported.
Cuban described AI as the most powerful tool in the world, surpassing even military strength.
He emphasized that the next U.S. president must be technologically adept to keep the nation competitive as AI rapidly advances. According to Cuban, Musk’s vision of AI-driven automation will directly conflict with Trump’s desire to maintain control over government processes.
“Elon will try to implement AI in ways that automate much of what Trump is now trying to control," Cuban wrote.
"Trump won’t understand what’s happening and will have to rely on AI oligarchs to support him in this battle.”
Cuban sees this not just as a political conflict, but as the greatest business battle in history. If Musk pushes for AI integration into federal processes, a war will erupt between tech companies over securing government contracts.
“The fight will be over which company's AI the government adopts," Cuban said. "It’s a zero-sum game that could cause more chaos than the country has ever seen. Trillions of dollars are at stake."
Major tech firms—including Meta, Google, Amazon, Microsoft, OpenAI, Anthropic, and Musk’s ventures—are all competing for dominance. Cuban noted, “This is exactly why every tech bro has ‘kissed the ring.’ We’re talking tens of trillions in market cap.”
