DMWAI Taps MPower For 100% Green Energy

MPower, the local retail electricity supplier of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), has entered into a retail supply agreement with D.M. Wenceslao & Associates, Incorporated (DMWAI).

Under the agreement, MPower will supply renewable energy to power the DMWAI-owned properties in Aseana City, Parañaque. The partnership between MPower and DMWAI represents a significant milestone for both companies.

The agreement specifically covers the energy needs of Aseana Holdings Inc. (AHI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of DMWAI.

AHI oversees several large-scale, mixed-use developments in Aseana City, and the shift to renewable energy marks a strategic move toward sustainability for the real estate developer.

Speaking on the agreement, DMWAI President and CEO Delfin Angelo Wenceslao emphasized the importance of renewable energy in the company’s operations: “We are grateful to have MPower as our trusted partner. Their commitment and expertise ensure that our office buildings and mixed-use developments will benefit from clean and renewable energy."

The partnership also aligns with DMWAI’s broader environmental goals, including sourcing 100% of its properties’ energy needs from renewable sources.

This move contributes to global efforts to reduce carbon emissions and foster cleaner energy alternatives, cementing DMWAI’s role as a pioneer in sustainable real estate development.

For MPower, this collaboration is part of a broader strategy to expand its renewable energy portfolio.

"MPower is proud to be with the DM Wenceslao Group in enabling a greener future for everyone. We remain committed to expanding our renewable energy sources and pushing for sustainable economic growth in the Philippines,” said Redel Domingo, MPower First Vice President and Head.

This deal also exemplifies the growing trend in the Philippines toward renewable energy adoption in property development and management.

Since their collaboration began in 2019, MPower has steadily powered DMWAI’s properties, which meet the 500-kilowatt threshold under the Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) program.

This program allows large energy consumers to select their electricity supplier, further encouraging the shift to sustainable energy solutions.

As DMWAI continues to develop landmark projects like Parqal Mall in Aseana City—recently named one of the “World’s Most Beautiful Emporiums” by Prix Versailles—the company’s commitment to blending modern design with sustainability is clear.

Through this partnership with MPower, DMWAI is setting the standard for environmentally conscious real estate in the Philippines.
