The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian joined Special Assistant to the President (SAP) Secretary Anton Lagdameo in leading the ceremonial distribution of cash aid to families affected by the southwest monsoon in Matanog, Maguindanao del Norte last July 14.

The aid distribution, which also included relief supplies, falls under the agency’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program in alignment with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to assist those hardest hit by the floods.
Likewise, the program sets in place a long-term coping mechanism for the effects of the 'Habagat' that continues to impact parts of Mindanao, including the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).

DSWD Undersecretary Diana Rose Cajipe, DSWD Field Office-12 (SOCCSKSARGEN) Regional Director Loreto Cabaya, and local officials of Maguindanao province and Matanog town were also present during the aid distribution.
