FBI And CISA Probe Chinese Hacking Of U.S. Telecoms

The U.S. government is investigating unauthorized access to commercial telecommunications infrastructure by actors affiliated with the People’s Republic of China (PRC), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) announced in a joint statement.


The investigation is ongoing, and organizations that suspect they might be impacted are encouraged to contact their local FBI field office or CISA.



After the FBI detected specific malicious activity targeting the telecom sector, the FBI and CISA immediately notified affected companies, provided technical assistance, and rapidly shared intelligence to help other potential victims.
