Known as Salt Typhoon, the cyberespionage campaign allowed Chinese hackers to access private texts and phone calls of numerous Americans. Federal authorities, alongside counterparts in New Zealand, Australia, and Canada—members of the Five Eyes alliance—issued joint warnings to address the threat.
