The appointment was announced following the foundation’s recently concluded spring board meeting.

Currently serving as the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President of Roche Diagnostics North America, Vitug brings with her a wealth of international experience spanning the United States, Switzerland, South Korea, and the United Kingdom.

Her leadership in diagnostics and finance has helped steer innovations that improve patients' lives around the globe.

Vitug’s appointment signals Lumina Foundation’s strategic move to deepen its global perspective and sharpen its financial foresight.

"Kaye's deep expertise in financial and healthcare leadership will be invaluable to Lumina as we continue our work to ensure all learners have the opportunity to succeed in education after high school," said Lumina President and CEO Jamie Merisotis.

“Her strategic mindset, combined with a commitment to innovation, will strengthen our efforts to build a learning system that is accessible, affordable, and aligned with workforce needs.”

A proud alumna of Ateneo de Manila University, Vitug earned her Bachelor of Science in Mathematics before embarking on a global career that would ultimately see her rise to the top of one of the world’s most influential diagnostics companies.

Her journey is a testament to the power of Filipino talent on the world stage.

Beyond her corporate achievements, Vitug is also a co-founder and co-CEO of Unlocking Eve, a nonprofit foundation championing a new model of integrated leadership to improve both health and business outcomes.

In 2022, she was recognized as a Woman of Influence by the Indianapolis Business Journal, further cementing her reputation as a dynamic leader committed to driving meaningful impact.

“I am honored to join Lumina's Board and contribute to the foundation's mission,” Vitug shared. “Education is a cornerstone of economic prosperity and community well-being. I am excited to support Lumina's vision of ensuring all individuals, regardless of background, have access to the knowledge and skills necessary for their success.”

Vitug also currently serves on the Board of Directors of United Way of Central Indiana, reflecting her deep commitment to community development and inclusive leadership. Her term with Lumina Foundation will span four years.

As Lumina Foundation continues to reimagine the future of education—making it more inclusive, relevant, and aligned with today’s workforce needs—leaders like Kaye Vitug are poised to make a significant difference.

And for the Philippines, her latest milestone is yet another proud reminder that homegrown talent can shape global change.
