Germany’s Defense Ministry announced it is suspending activity on the social media platform X, citing difficulties in maintaining objective dialogue on the platform under Elon Musk’s ownership.

The suspension, reported by Deutsche Presse-Agentur (DPA), also applies to the German military, which will post only in "exceptional cases" such as countering disinformation. The Foreign Ministry has followed suit, confirming the move to Reuters.
The decision was reportedly accelerated by Musk's inflammatory comments on European politics.
Musk publicly criticized British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, called German Chancellor Olaf Scholz an “incompetent fool,” and voiced support for the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD).
The controversy culminated in Musk conducting a live interview on X with Alice Weidel, the leader of the AfD, a party widely criticized for its racist and xenophobic views.
