Both Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump have spent considerable time and resources in the blue wall states throughout their campaigns.
The states were Democratic strongholds for decades until Trump flipped three of them in 2016, but President Joe Biden turned them blue again in 2020, Kinsey Crowley reported for USA Today.

Pennsylvania has 19 electoral votes. According to Emerson’s latest polling, Trump has 49% of the vote, while Harris stands at 48%, whereas Bloomberg has Harris ahead with 50% to Trump’s 48.2%.
The blue wall refers to a collection of states that had reliably voted Democratic in recent presidential elections through 2012.
Discussions around the so-called blue wall erupted after the 2016 election when Trump won three such states: Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Together, these states account for a crucial 44 electoral votes in the 2024 election.
Harris holds a slight lead in both Pennsylvania and Michigan. The polls were conducted before the Madison Square Garden (MSG) incident, during which a Trump supporter made offensive remarks about Puerto Ricans.

In Wisconsin, with 10 electoral votes, a USA Today/Suffolk University poll places Trump at 48% and Harris at 47%. Emerson’s poll has Trump at 49% and Harris at 48%, while Quinnipiac shows both tied at 48%.
