The ICC’s pre-trial chamber dismissed Israel’s challenges to its jurisdiction, stating there are “reasonable grounds” to believe the three bear criminal responsibility for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity during the recent Israel-Hamas conflict.

The ICC’s jurisdiction is recognized by 124 member states, excluding Israel and its main ally, the United States. While the US rejected the decision, several European nations expressed their respect for the court’s ruling.
Deif, whom Israel claimed was killed in a July airstrike in Gaza, was included in the warrants, adding to the controversy surrounding the announcement.
