Japanese people reported the lowest satisfaction levels with their romantic and sexual lives among 31 countries in an international survey conducted by the France-based research firm Ipsos, according to findings published, based on a report by Ai Kunimoto of Mainichi Japan.

While Japan narrowly avoided the last spot in satisfaction with "relationships with partners or spouses," it still ranked second to last, ahead of South Korea.

Japan ranked last for the second consecutive year, highlighting widespread dissatisfaction with romantic and sexual aspects of life, as well as relationships with partners.

The online survey included 24,269 adults from 31 countries, focusing on satisfaction in areas such as romantic and sexual experiences, feelings of being loved, and relationships with partners or spouses.

The highest satisfaction rates were recorded in India and Mexico, with 76% of participants expressing contentment with their romantic and sexual lives. In contrast, only 37% of respondents in Japan reported being satisfied.

Similarly, for the "feeling loved" category,

Colombia and Peru topped the list at 86%, while Japan ranked the lowest at 51%. While Japan narrowly avoided the last spot in satisfaction with "relationships with partners or spouses," it still ranked second to last, ahead of South Korea.
