Meralco secured the accolade for its Certified by Meralco (CBM) platform, a groundbreaking customer-centric solution designed to streamline the electric service application process for its nearly eight million customers.
The award was presented at the ASEAN IoT Business Platform (AIBP) ceremony, held on September 17, 2024, in Pasay City. Attendees from Meralco included key executives such as Rocky D. Bacani, First Vice President and Head of Information, Communication, Technology and Transformation (ICTT), alongside various senior officials from the company’s program management, sales, marketing, and innovation departments.
Meralco's CBM platform emerged as the Philippine winner in the open category, triumphing over five other finalists.
Dubbed the "Uberization of the Meralco Service Application Experience," the CBM platform revolutionizes how customers apply for electricity services by creating a seamless, fully digital experience.
The platform simplifies and accelerates every step, from submitting application requirements to managing construction and acquiring permits. It also offers ratings for certified contractors, ensuring high-quality and reliable services.
Launched in 2022, the CBM platform has been praised for its focus on customer convenience.
“Our customers appreciate the faster and more streamlined application process, cost transparency, and the assurance of quality service from certified providers,” said Meralco Senior Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer Ferdinand O. Geluz.
The platform's benefits extend beyond customers, as it has also enhanced efficiency and capability-building for Meralco’s contractors and frontliners.
Meralco’s innovative approach to digital transformation did not stop there. The company was also a finalist under the Data and AI category for its Meralco Data Platform (MDP), which centralizes data from various operations, including billing systems and online channels.
This platform enables accurate analytics and more efficient, data-driven processes across Meralco’s operations.
The AIBP ASEAN Enterprise Innovation Award, established in 2017, honors organizations that drive business transformation through technology. Meralco’s achievement underscores its leadership in adopting innovative solutions to meet evolving customer needs and challenges within the electric utility industry.
