This collaboration marks a substantial step in Pepsi’s commitment to greener operations across its production facilities.
MPower, a leading local retail electricity supplier, has secured a retail supply agreement with PCPPI to power two of its key manufacturing plants in Muntinlupa City and Sto. Tomas, Batangas.
At a ceremonial signing in Pasig City, PCPPI CEO and President Phyo Phyu Noe, Chairman Oscar S. Reyes, and MPower Head Redel M. Domingo sealed the deal, which promises a future-driven approach to energy use.
“We are eager to build a mutually empowering partnership with PCPPI,” stated Domingo. “As committed allies in sustainability, we look forward to more impactful collaborations that will shape a better and brighter future for the communities that we serve.”
Under the partnership, PCPPI will participate in MPower’s community initiatives, including CommuniTrees, an annual tree-planting program, and iMPower, a corporate social responsibility project that promotes quality education.
This engagement highlights MPower’s dedication to serving “contestable customers” and demonstrates its commitment to sustainability through its active expansion of renewable energy capacity within Meralco’s franchise area.
In a parallel partnership, Vantage Energy Solutions and Management Inc. has been tapped to provide power to five additional PCPPI facilities across Luzon and the Visayas.
At the contract signing, PCPPI’s Chief Manufacturing Officer Youngho Kim, CEO Phyo Phyu Noe, and Vantage Energy President Ernesto M. Cabral emphasized the transformative power of this collaboration.
“This strategic engagement with Vantage Energy is part of PCPPI’s transformation,” Noe remarked. “We are committed to ensuring energy efficiency across our locations, as this brings value to our overall operations and to the communities we serve.”
Cabral underscored that the agreement is not merely a commercial endeavor but a strategic alliance aimed at advancing sustainable practices.
"Together with PCPPI, we are committed to driving innovation and advancing sustainable practices that enrich the communities we serve," said Cabral.
As a trusted Meralco subsidiary since 2017, Vantage Energy has a track record of delivering reliable, eco-friendly solutions nationwide, making it a prime choice for PCPPI’s energy transformation.
This collaboration comes at a pivotal time for PCPPI, now under Lotte Chilsung Beverage's management. The acquisition by this South Korean conglomerate solidifies PCPPI's foothold in the Philippine market and aligns with Lotte’s broader ambitions for regional growth.
With plans to integrate its proprietary brands in the Philippines, Lotte aims to make PCPPI a regional manufacturing hub, bringing environmentally conscious solutions to the forefront of its expansion strategy.
