NEDA: COVID 19 IMPACT SEEN AT P2 TRILLION

The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) projects the potential impact of the Covid 19 pandemic on the economy at P2 trillion or about 9.4 per cent of gross domestic product (GDP).

Thus, the Development Budget Coordination Committee which is headed by President Duterte and comprised of the secretaries of ten other cabinet members, is looking at the timely implementation of a well-targeted recovery program.

The aim of the recovery plan is to mitigate the impact of the Covid 19 pandemic and in so doing, all the cabinet members have been asked to come up with their program thrusts.

Aside from the President , the other members of the DBCC are the Executive Secretary, and the secretaries of the NEDA, Finance, DTI, DA, DENR, DPWH, DBM DOLE and DILG.

In tandem with the private sector, the DBCC aims to mitigate the impact of the pandemic by helping the country regain confidence, attain higher economic growth, and restore employment rates to pre-crisis levels. #coronavirusimpact #COVID19PH
