This groundbreaking initiative aims to regenerate a section of Australia’s Daintree Rainforest, utilizing NTT’s innovative Smart Management Platform (SMP) technology.
The collaboration promises not only to breathe new life into this vital ecosystem but also to establish sustainable and replicable models for global environmental restoration efforts.
The Daintree Rainforest, situated adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef, has long suffered from the effects of agricultural clearing and invasive species.
ClimateForce, an Australian charity committed to scalable, sustainable solutions, has been leading efforts to regenerate the area. Now, with NTT's sponsorship, the project will leverage advanced AI, data analytics, and predictive modeling to optimize reforestation techniques and monitor progress in real-time.
“ClimateForce is a proving ground for technologies that protect biodiversity and help mitigate climate change,” said Barney Swan, CEO and Co-founder of ClimateForce.
“The generous support from NTT and NTT DATA will help us quickly expand our initiative in the Daintree and speed our goal of developing replicable models that regenerate ecosystems, protect biodiversity, and foster resilient local economies in other locations.”
The partnership will allow NTT DATA to provide critical operational and fundraising support, in addition to financial contributions to secure the land's regeneration.
This initiative marks a significant step towards harnessing technology for environmental good, with the hope that the Smart Rainforest project will serve as a blueprint for future reforestation efforts worldwide.
NTT’s commitment to innovation and sustainability is reflected in its long-term vision of realizing a sustainable future.
This collaboration with ClimateForce aligns seamlessly with NTT’s broader objectives of protecting biodiversity and combating climate change through cutting-edge technological solutions.
