In a major boost for accessible healthcare in Central Luzon, the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) joined the Provincial Government of Pampanga on Friday, April 11, for the inauguration of the new Pampanga Provincial Dialysis Center I.

PAGCOR donated over PHP90 million to the project, which funded the procurement of 40 dialysis machines and a CT scan unit.

The new center is expected to serve thousands of patients who previously had to travel long distances or shoulder significant expenses to receive life-sustaining dialysis treatments.

During the inauguration, PAGCOR Chairman Alejandro H. Tengco emphasized that the center is not only a response to the pressing medical needs of dialysis patients but also a symbol of government compassion.

“We know how expensive and exhausting dialysis treatment can be—not just financially, but physically, mentally, and emotionally. That’s why having this kind of facility in the province is truly vital,” Tengco said.

“These medical equipment represent our government’s genuine concern for patients who face health challenges every single day.”

Chairman Tengco also paid tribute to the medical staff who will run the facility, calling them “the nation’s true heroes” for their dedication and service.

“This is what nation-building looks like—projects that directly touch lives and strengthen communities,” he added, noting that the center is aligned with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s push to expand healthcare access, particularly in underserved areas.

Pampanga Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda expressed his deep gratitude to PAGCOR and other government partners who made the project possible.“We will make sure that every underprivileged Kapampangan who seeks treatment here won’t have to spend a single centavo,” the governor said.

“We are truly thankful to all the government agencies that helped us realize this vision.”

The Pampanga Provincial Dialysis Center I is a stand-alone facility developed under a public-private partnership.

Beyond dialysis treatment, it also provides nutritional counseling, social work services, and patient education—ensuring a holistic approach to healthcare for patients and their families.
