Since its inauguration in 2018, PITX has revolutionized the commuter experience, providing seamless, safe, and efficient transport services that have steadily grown in scale and impact.

This milestone underscores PITX’s continued expansion, which has been marked by the introduction of new routes, strengthened partnerships with transport operators, and enhanced facilities.

From its 150-million-passenger achievement in 2024, PITX has seen a 31.7% year-over-year increase in traffic, with passenger volume rising from 39.16 million in 2023 to 51.56 million in 2024.

A Growing Transportation Hub

Since opening its doors, PITX has facilitated over 178.9 million passengers and logged more than 5.4 million vehicle departures across various transport modes—including city and provincial buses, modern and traditional jeepneys, and Transport Network Vehicle Services (TNVS).

It currently serves as a terminal for over 105 bus destinations, including 72 provincial routes and 33 in-city routes.

“The consistent rise in daily foot traffic since our opening in 2018 highlights the increasing reliance of commuters on PITX as a safe, seamless, and convenient transport hub,” said Atty. Jaime Raphael Feliciano, President of PITX.

“We take this as a responsibility to continuously innovate and expand our services to meet growing demand.”

Expanding Routes and Interconnectivity

In line with its commitment to nationwide connectivity, PITX introduced six new routes in Luzon and two in the Visayas region in 2024. These additions are part of a broader mobility vision championed by Megawide, PITX’s developer and operator.

Megawide aims to expand its transport network, establish additional terminals, and launch a point-to-point (P2P) service for enhanced commuter interconnectivity.

Further bolstering PITX’s role as a transportation hub, the newly opened LRT-1 PITX (Asia World) Station in November 2024 has contributed an estimated 20,000 additional daily commuters, making transfers between rail and road transport more convenient.

Meanwhile, the upcoming Cavite Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) System will integrate PITX as a key node, further optimizing transport efficiency between Cavite and Metro Manila.

A Model Landport for the Future

PITX continues to redefine the role of landports in the Philippines. Beyond improving commuter mobility, it aims to set the gold standard in intermodal transport solutions.

“We remain committed to enhancing PITX’s role as the country’s model landport by improving intermodal transport solutions and boosting overall commuter experience,” added Feliciano.

“Our long-term strategy is to solidify PITX as the gold standard for landports in the Philippines by expanding its intermodal capabilities, integrating emerging transport systems like the Cavite BRT, and enhancing nationwide connectivity through strategic infrastructure investments.”

As PITX celebrates this remarkable milestone, it reaffirms its dedication to making travel more efficient and accessible for millions of Filipinos.

With ongoing expansions, forward-thinking innovations, and seamless transport connectivity, PITX is set to play an even greater role in shaping the future of the country’s transportation network.
