PSE Index Buoyed By Foreign Buys

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) index today rose on net foreign buying, with mixed performance among the sub-indices. It closed at 6,208.83 points, up by 25.20 points or 0.41 percent.

Financials increased by 1.01 percent, industrials by 0.96 percent, and services by 0.94 percent, while holding firms decreased by 0.03 percent, mining and oil by 0.05 percent, and property lost 0.70 percent.


Foreign buying amounted to P1.867 billion, and foreign selling reached P1.746 billion, resulting in net foreign buying of P120 million.



Total trades reached P3.9 billion, with 80 gainers, 86 losers, and 43 shares remaining unchanged.


Jollibee Foods emerged as the most active stock with trades of P529 million, ending P11 higher at P238. Ayala Land was the second most active with P238 million in trades, closing unchanged at P29.85.

Among the gainers were ICTSI, up by P2.80 to P214.80, BDO Unibank up by P2.50 to P131.90, Century Food up by 65 centavos to P30.50, Bloomberry, up by 4 centavos to P9.80, PLDT, up by P14 to P1,260, Aboitiz Equity, up by P1.40 to P48.65, Globe Telecom, up by P40 to P1,760, Aboitiz Power, up by 45 centavos to P36.70, Metrobank, up by P1.30 to P52.80, Robinsons, Land up by 2 centavos to P14.50, and Apex Mining, up by 1 centavo to P2.64.

The losers included market bellwether SM Investments, which lost P2 to P827, SM Prime, down by 45 centavos to P31.25, Emperador, down by 5 centavos to P20.75, Semirara Mining, down by 10 centavos to P27.90, Dito CME, down by 6 centavos to P2.28, JG Summit, down by 85 centavos to P37.85, Ayala Corp, down by a peso to P646, Alliance Global, down by 12 centavos to P10.28, and Puregold, down by 5 centavos to P28.40.


Bank of the Philippines was unchanged at P104.
