Salesforce has surpassed 1,000 paid deals for its "Agentforce" platform, which enables businesses to create AI-powered virtual representatives, CEO Marc Benioff announced, Jeffrey Dastin reported for Reuters.

Speaking at a company event in San Francisco, Salesforce showcased enhancements that enable businesses to build bots for tasks like recruitment, customer service, and more on its platform and its messaging app, Slack.
Salesforce has already leveraged this technology internally, Benioff revealed.
The company now requires half as many human agents to handle simple customer queries, though Benioff also plans to expand Salesforce’s sales team by 10% or more.
Since the launch of ChatGPT in 2022, many companies have experimented with AI but struggled to achieve substantial savings or revenue. For Benioff, AI-driven "digital labor" holds the potential to augment human workers and drive economic growth.
Looking ahead, Salesforce plans to launch a "robot force partner program" to connect physical robots with virtual AI agents. Benioff cited hotel chains as an example, envisioning digital assistants managing back-office tasks while robots handle room cleaning.
