The attack disrupted Blue Yonder’s private cloud computing services, which some customers use, though the company's public cloud services remain unaffected. Blue Yonder, acquired by Panasonic in 2021, is working with US-based clients to mitigate the impact on their operations.
“On November 21, 2024, Blue Yonder experienced disruptions to its managed services hosted environment, which was determined to be the result of a ransomware incident,” the company said in a statement.
Blue Yonder eventually reported making “steady progress” in recovery efforts but admitted it could not yet provide a timeline for full restoration. The attack has significantly affected the UK, where two of the four largest grocery chains told CNN they were taking measures to address the outage’s impact.
