Priced at $700—40% more than the original PS5 at launch—the PS5 Pro will be available starting November 7, with pre-orders beginning on September 26, Kathleen Magramo reported for CNN.

The PS5 Pro boasts significantly more powerful computing capabilities, offering up to 45% faster rendering for gameplay.

Mark Cerny, lead architect for the console, stated, “Simply put, it’s the most powerful console we’ve ever built.”

The PS5 Pro features custom hardware for machine learning and an AI Library designed to enhance image clarity. However, the new console will not include a disc drive, which must be purchased separately.

To date, more than 56 million PS5 units have been sold, and Sony expects to sell 18 million more this year. Despite this, sales of the PS5 have lagged behind its predecessor, the PS4, which sold over 114 million units since its 2013 release.
