South Korean Opposition Moves To Impeach Acting President

South Korea’s main opposition party plans to impeach Acting President Han Duck-soo, escalating political tensions following the impeachment of President Yoon Suk Yeol earlier this month, Bloomberg News reported.

The Democratic Party postponed its impeachment motion until Thursday, citing frustrations over Han's refusal to approve special counsel bills targeting President Yoon and First Lady Kim Keon Hee.

Han, who can delay or veto these bills, has become a key figure in the ongoing political crisis. The turmoil follows Yoon's controversial martial law declaration on Dec. 3, which was quickly rescinded but led to his impeachment and widespread protests.
