Elon Musk’s SpaceX has requested Taiwanese suppliers to shift manufacturing operations outside of Taiwan due to geopolitical risks, leading some suppliers to relocate portions of their supply chains, Francesco Guarascio, Khanh Vu, and Ben Blanchard reported, for Reuters.

According to sources, SpaceX advised manufacturers supporting its Starlink satellite internet products to produce outside Taiwan, with at least one supplier relocating to Vietnam.
Another source mentioned that SpaceX directly requested that Taiwanese component makers move production abroad.
Chin-Poon Industrial, a component maker that recently supplied SpaceX, confirmed that the company asked them to move production from Taiwan to Thailand for new orders, citing geopolitical considerations. SpaceX has yet to comment on the requests.
