Roslyn Roberson states she’s just one of the many who didn’t receive a warning. "Just, you had a job on Saturday but you don’t have a job on Sunday." Single mother Lavinia Thorton tells us she is heartbroken after dedicating a total of six years to Stellantis.
"I looked forward to a future for my kids," said Thorton.
"I have to keep going, hopefully start something, my own business or, the only thing I can really do is pray and keep going because I’m lost." In a similar situation as Roberson and Thorton is Starla Woods.
"It’s very hurtful and it’s shameful to have no warning to know if you’re going to be able to pay your bills next month," Woods said.
"We have families, a little notice would have helped so we could have prepared ourselves, started looking for other jobs," said Roberson. Just three of the hundreds impacted, these women are now calling on local leaders.
"I want to know what our mayor thinks about that. What does he think About 350 of his people are now standing on his unemployment line because of Stellantis," Roberson said.
