The cables were damaged on Nov. 17 and 18 near where the Yi Peng 3 was tracked. Swedish prosecutors sought access to the ship, but Beijing denied the request.

Despite pledges of cooperation, China's Foreign Ministry stated the ship had left to safeguard the crew's well-being, claiming prior notification to relevant nations. The incident has intensified tensions, with Sweden urging China to uphold its commitment to transparency.
