Thailand's Constitutional Court dismissed a petition against former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra and the ruling Pheu Thai Party, delivering a significant reprieve for Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra's administration, Bloomberg's Patpicha Tanakasempipat reported.

The court stated the complaint, filed by activist lawyer Theerayuth Suwankaesorn, lacked sufficient evidence. The petition accused Thaksin and his affiliated party of attempting to undermine Thailand’s democratic regime with the king as head of state.

This decision reduces political uncertainty and stabilizes investor confidence in Thailand, still recovering from the August removal of Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin over ethics violations and the disbanding of the opposition Move Forward Party.
