Lithium deposits were found at two locations in the southern province of Phang-Nga, the officials claimed, with one location estimated to have deposits of 14.8 million metric tons (MMT) containing lithium.

The other site is still being surveyed, but the announcement comes as the US also reported a significant lithium deposit in California’s largest lake. Electric vehicles (EVs) are already being manufactured in Thailand’s Rayong province by Great Wall Motors, a Chinese company.
