Negotiators working to end the Russia-Ukraine war have already discussed redistributing assets, U.S. President Donald Trump said. Jessie Yeung reported for CNN.

Trump’s comments come after Ukraine reportedly accepted a U.S.-proposed 30-day ceasefire, leaving it to Russia to decide whether to agree. Speaking aboard Air Force One after a weekend at Mar-a-Lago, Trump expressed optimism about the negotiations:
“We’re doing pretty well, I think, with Russia. We’ll see if we have something to announce maybe by Tuesday.”
Trump also revealed that land disputes and power plant control were key topics in the negotiations.
“A lot of land is different than it was before the war. We’ll be talking about land, we’ll be talking about power plants—that’s a big question. But I think a lot of it has already been discussed by both sides, Ukraine and Russia.”
While details remain unclear, Trump’s remarks suggest that territorial concessions and infrastructure control could play a role in any potential peace deal.
