President Joe Biden has prohibited the sale of advanced chip technology to China, a country heavily reliant on US-manufactured chips and dependent on ASML of The Netherlands for lithography equipment that prints nanometer-level wafers, as well as on Japanese companies for chemicals used in cleaning equipment and raw materials for chips.
