UnionBank Partners With DLS-CSB

Union Bank of the Philippines (UnionBank) is leading this charge through its "Tech-Up Pilipinas" advocacy, aimed at empowering Filipinos with essential digital skills.

One of the latest milestones in this initiative is the launch of the UnionBank Innovation Garage in partnership with De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB).

Situated in The Atrium at the DLS-CSB Campus, the Innovation Garage is a cutting-edge learning facility designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in a digital world.

Through the UBPXcellerator Program, spearheaded by UnionBank’s Human Resources team, the Garage offers courses covering emerging technologies, management skills, and design thinking.

This partnership ensures that students receive training from industry experts, fostering a culture of innovation and adaptability.

UnionBank President and CEO Edwin Bautista emphasized the strategic choice of DLS-CSB as a partner, recognizing its reputation among students pursuing creative and digital-centric careers.

"With the innate creativity of the Filipinos, we could be among the best in Southeast Asia if not the world," Bautista said during the launch ceremony on July 17. "I hope that with this [Innovation Garage], you can be the Center of Excellence not just for the La Sallian schools, but a Center of Excellence for the country."

The collaboration includes mentorship opportunities, internships, and career placements, with top-performing students potentially joining UnionBank's ranks.

This partnership, which began in 2018, has already seen the development of numerous Xcellerator courses and an elective in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence inspired by UnionBank's presence at the Singapore Fintech Festival.

Through the Innovation Garage, UnionBank and DLS-CSB are shaping the future of Filipino talent, ensuring they are equipped to navigate and excel in the digital age.
