Movem Electric Inc., a subsidiary of Manila Electric Company (Meralco), specializes in integrated electric mobility solutions.
The company’s collaboration with Uratex reflects a shared commitment to sustainable practices, as the foam maker continues to convert its internal fleet to electric vehicles (EVs).
Movem facilitated the selection of the electric truck model, oversaw its delivery and installation, and provided comprehensive training to Uratex’s drivers and maintenance personnel, ensuring smooth integration of the new technology.
Uratex Managing Director Peachy C. Medina expressed confidence in the partnership, noting, "Movem gave us confidence, that for all the uncertainties of this young technology, they will be behind us. With this kind of support, we know that this EV will be the first of many more to come."
This electric vehicle adoption is part of Uratex’s broader strategy to implement sustainable practices. The company has already begun transitioning to renewable energy sources with support from Meralco under the Green Energy Option Program (GEOP).
The addition of electric trucks to its fleet further strengthens Uratex’s commitment to sustainability and positions the company as a leader in reducing carbon emissions within the manufacturing sector.
Raymond B. Ravelo, President and CEO of Movem, lauded Uratex’s commitment to sustainability.
"Our vision of driving the Philippines’ journey towards an emissions-free transportation sector is only made possible through working with like-minded partners such as Uratex," Ravelo said.
"Together, we will continue to promote vehicle electrification initiatives, helping protect and preserve our planet."
This partnership also solidifies the collaboration between Uratex and Meralco, with both companies working towards the shared goal of sustainable operations.
Meralco Biz Head Roberto S. Galang emphasized the utility company’s dedication to supporting businesses like Uratex in their transition to cleaner energy solutions, saying, “It is our honor and privilege to partner with Uratex through initiatives that help you achieve your sustainability goals.”
With this latest move, Uratex is setting a powerful example for other companies in the industry, demonstrating that sustainable business operations are both achievable and essential for a greener future.
