Jim, Rob, Alice, and the other Waltons now hold more wealth than the royal families of Abu Dhabi and Qatar.

Their fortune surpasses the market value of several major American companies, including Home Depot ($412 billion), Procter & Gamble ($402 billion), and Netflix ($396 billion).

Last year, Abu Dhabi's ruling family, the Al Nahyans, led the rankings with an estimated $305 billion fortune, which outpaced the Waltons’ $260 billion. This year, the two families have swapped places, with the Al Nahyans now worth $324 billion—over $100 billion less than the Waltons.

Qatar's ruling dynasty, the Al Thanis, ranked third with $173 billion. France's Hermès family, known for luxury goods such as the Birkin bag, placed fourth with $171 billion.

The Koch family, legendary U.S. industrialists, rounded out the top five with a net worth of $149 billion. Other notable entries in the rankings include Saudi Arabia's ruling family, candy dynasties Mars and Ferrero, and the Wertheimer family behind Chanel.
